Before you buy
- ✓Buy the storage you'll need in three years: you can't add it later, and photos and apps only grow. 256GB is the sweet spot for most people.
- ✓Last year's flagship often beats this year's mid-range on camera and screen, and drops the most in price once its replacement launches.
- ✓Check software support: Apple, Google and Samsung now promise around seven years of updates on recent models, which matters more than a spec bump.
