Before you buy

• ✓OLED gives perfect blacks and is best in dim rooms; Mini LED gets brighter and suits bright living rooms.
• ✓For gaming on a recent console, look for HDMI 2.1 with 4K at 120Hz and variable refresh rate (VRR).
• ✓Size by distance: for 4K, a screen around 1 to 1.5 times its diagonal away looks sharp without being overwhelming.
