The best foldable phones in Australia (2026)
Every foldable worth buying in 2026, from the Galaxy Z Flip8 and Z Fold8 to the iPhone Duo, Pixel 11 Pro Fold and Motorola razr, with today's cheapest Australian prices.
In this guide
Foldables have gone from novelty to normal. In 2026 Samsung makes three of them, Apple has its first, and Google and Motorola both have strong alternatives. There are two kinds:
- Flip phones fold a normal-sized phone in half so it fits any pocket.
- Book foldables open a normal phone into a small tablet.
Here are our picks of each, with today's prices at the Australian stores we check every morning.
Best flip phone: Galaxy Z Flip8

A full-size 6.9-inch phone that folds down to fit a jacket pocket, with a cover screen big enough to reply to messages without opening it. Samsung's RRP is $1,949 for 256GB.
Best cheap foldable: Galaxy Z Flip7 FE

Samsung's cheaper flip. If you want to try a foldable without paying flagship money, this is the one to start with.
Best book foldable: Galaxy Z Fold8

Samsung's new, wider Fold: easy to use closed, and a tablet-shaped screen inside. The best value book foldable at RRP.
Best big-screen foldable: Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra

The biggest inner screen and the only Fold with a 3x zoom camera.
Best for iPhone users: iPhone Duo

Flip or fold?
- Get a flip if you want a smaller phone in your pocket, or you mostly use your phone for messages, photos and social media.
- Get a fold if you read, work or watch video on your phone, and would otherwise carry a tablet.
Before you buy any foldable
- Screen protectors. The inner screen comes with a protector fitted. Don't peel it off.
- Care plans. Foldable screens cost far more to repair than a normal phone's. Read consumer guarantees and warranties to know what you're covered for already.
- Last year's models. The Galaxy Z Fold7 and Z Flip7 are still around. They're only a good deal when the price gap is real, so check the table above.
