A fridge is one of the few appliances where the same model can be several hundred dollars apart between stores on the same day. We compare every model by its exact model code, every morning, at The Good Guys, JB Hi-Fi, Betta and Costco.

Which type?

Type Good for
Top mount The cheapest to buy and run; freezer at eye level
Bottom mount Fresh food at eye level, the most popular family fridge
French door / quad door Wide shelves for platters, big families
Side by side Narrow doors for tight kitchens, often ice and water

What actually matters

  • Measure first, then add the ventilation gap the manual asks for at the sides, top and back.
  • Energy rating. Compare the kWh per year on the label; over ten years the running cost can outweigh a price difference.
  • Plumbed or not. Plumbed ice and water needs a tap behind the fridge; non-plumbed models have a tank.
  • Delivery and removal. Check delivery, installation and old-fridge removal for your postcode before comparing two prices.

Every product variant at least two of these stores had in stock today, at its outright price. Recalculated every morning.

Every model is on the fridges page.

How we work: every price in this guide is today's lowest in-stock price across the Australian stores we check, refreshed every morning, and the tables recalculate with it. Nobody pays to be included or to rank higher. Specs come from the stores' and makers' own listings. How Compare Empire works
