A TV is the purchase where store choice matters most. On a $2,000 TV, the gap between the cheapest and the dearest Australian store is often a few hundred dollars for exactly the same model. So which store should you check first?

We compare 622 TVs at 391 Australian stores every morning. Whenever two or more stores sell the same TV (same model, same screen size) in stock, we note who had the lowest price.

Every product variant at least two of these stores had in stock today, at its outright price. Recalculated every morning.

The first column of numbers is how many TVs that store sells that at least one other store also has in stock today. The bar is how often it had the lowest (or equal lowest) price, and the last column is how much more it typically charged when it didn't.

When we wrote this in October 2026, Harvey Norman had the lowest price most often, with JB Hi-Fi, The Good Guys and Betta behind it and close to each other. That order moves, which is why the table recalculates daily.

The most compared TVs today

These are the TVs sold by the most Australian stores, with the store that has each one cheapest right now:

What to compare besides the price

  • Delivery and installation. A cheap TV with a $100 delivery fee may not be cheap. Wall mounting, old-TV removal and setup are priced differently at each store.
  • The exact model code. TV makers sell slightly different model numbers through different stores and sale events. Compare the full code, which also tells you the year.
  • Stock and pickup. A store that has it in your local branch today can be worth a small premium for a big screen you don't want to wait for.
  • Returns. Check the change-of-mind policy before you buy a size you're unsure about.
  • Extended warranties. You already have strong rights under the Australian Consumer Law. Read what you get for free before paying for more.

Costco and buying direct from Samsung

Costco sometimes has a TV at the lowest price, but its range is small and you need a membership. Samsung's own store tends to sit at or near RRP on TVs that retailers also stock, and in our data it's rarely the cheapest; its value is in models or bundles you can't get elsewhere.

Don't forget to haggle

TVs are one of the products where asking still works, especially at Harvey Norman (whose stores are franchised) and on bigger screens. Take the cheapest price from this page and ask them to match it.

Pick the TV first

If you haven't chosen yet, start with how to choose a TV, then see the best TVs in Australia or the best TVs under $1,000. Every TV and every store's price is on the TVs page.

How we work: every price in this guide is today's lowest in-stock price across the Australian stores we check, refreshed every morning, and the tables recalculate with it. Nobody pays to be included or to rank higher. Specs come from the stores' and makers' own listings. How Compare Empire works
